Is Titanfall 2 still hacked 2022?
After years of struggling to combat hacks and DDoS attacks that at times have rendered Titanfall unplayable, Respawn Entertainment is throwing in the towel. The studio said in a message posted to Twitter that it is halting sales of the game today and will remove it from subscription services on March 1, 2022.
@DirectXeon are reporting that Titanfall 2 is currently massively compromised. Gamers allege that the vulnerability lets attackers gain local code execution abilities from developer Respawn's servers. The alleged exploit reportedly affects Titanfall 2 players on all platforms—Windows, PlayStation, and Xbox.

While the "security vulnerability" was indeed real, it could only be used to crash the game and not exploit the player's devices. As of today, September 10, an update was issued to solve the problem and make Titanfall 2 safe once more. However, the title is still unplayable for many players.
Though players were sent to savetitanfall.com, the staff there had disavowed the hack. So, who was to blame? As it turns out, a member of the Titanfall community who goes by the username p0358 was working with other members of the Discord group named Remnant Fleet to keep the Titanfall games dead.
Respawn Entertainment has made several public statements that TItanfall 3 is not in any form of development, with the latest one during a live stream in late 2021. The teams at Respawn are currently working on several announced projects, none of which are remotely affiliated with the world of Titanfall.
Is Titanfall safe to play?
In short, while there is an exploit that can crash the game, there does not seem to be anything serious enough to pose an actual threat to people's machines, as the original viral post stated.
Respawn has just announced that the game will be delisted and removed from subscription services next year. After March 1, 2022, only those who have already purchased Titanfall, or pick up a second-hand key or physical copy, will be able to play the game. Further still, sales are already ceasing today.
The ongoing DDoS problems with Titanfall 1 and 2 are attributed to one or two solitary hackers, who have a grudge against Respawn. One possible culprit is a player called Tufi, who was caught cheating in Apex Legends and had legal issues with EA, Respawn's parent company and publisher.
Update (7/3/21) - As of 7:16pm PT, Respawn has confirmed that matchmaking in Apex Legends has been restored and a fix has been put in place to stop the hacked playlists. Furthermore, it has "determined that this attack—while disruptive—has not put players' personal information or accounts at risk."

Titanfall and Titanfall 2 have been plagued by hackers ruining multiplayer for years now and one would think that making that part of the game unplayable would be the end of it.
