Why is Earth losing its greenery?
Changing land use for food production is the biggest driver of nature loss. About 50% of the world's habitable land area is already used for agriculture – for livestock such as cattle and pigs and for crops that feed both people and livestock.
The world is gradually becoming less green, scientists have found. Plant growth is declining all over the planet, and new research links the phenomenon to decreasing moisture in the air—a consequence of climate change.
Industrialization further decreased the number of trees. Mining is also one of the reasons for deforestation. Infrastructure such as roads, buildings are also eliminating greenery. Growing energy requirements led to the clearing up of large tracts of land for solar energy, wind energy and other power plants.
What's causing it? The loss of ecosystems is caused mainly by changes in land and sea use, exploitation, climate change, pollution and the introduction of invasive species. Some things have a direct impact on nature, like the dumping of waste into the ocean.
Human activity is causing environmental degradation, which is the deterioration of the environment through depletion of resources such as air, water and soil; the destruction of ecosystems; habitat destruction; the extinction of wildlife; and pollution.

Going Green Pros | Going Green Cons |
---|---|
You can save water | Going green may take some effort |
Reduction of energy consumption | Green products may be expensive |
Better recycling | Limited variety of product |
Less waste | High upfront costs |
Advantages of Green Economy :-
Global warming, loss of biodiversity, deforestation, desertification, resource depletion can gradually be obstructed by implementing Green economy which will automatically save the earth and its animals from destruction as far as possible.
Humans impact the physical environment in many ways: overpopulation, pollution, burning fossil fuels, and deforestation. Changes like these have triggered climate change, soil erosion, poor air quality, and undrinkable water.
The impact of ecosystem destruction are the following: Increased flooding due to the erosion of soil and lack of trees. Rising of the sea levels due to the melting of the glaciers, caused by Global Warming. Disruption of the food chain when the apex predators become extinct.
Is the Earth getting greener?
A new study reports that increased vegetation growth during the recent decades, known as the “Greening Earth”, has a strong cooling effect on the land due to increased efficiency of heat and water vapor transfer to the atmosphere.
Green leafy flora make up 32 percent of Earth's surface area.

If forests are cleared, or even disturbed, they release carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Forest loss and damage is the cause of around 10% of global warming. There's simply no way we can fight the climate crisis if we don't stop deforestation. We need to protect forests now more than ever.
In today's ecologicalcondition, conserving wildlife/environment is becoming difficult day by day. Conserving wildlife/environment faces challenges because of industrial revolution at each and every step.
