Why can I not download my video from Loom?
You should always be able to download your Loom videos. Sometimes it may happen that immediately after you record, your video file is not yet available for download. Your video is long and Loom needs a few extra minutes to process the file and get it ready for download.
If you're a Loom Starter user, your video length can be up to 5 minutes. If you're an Education user, it can be up to 45 minutes. If you're a Business or Enterprise user, your video will keep recording for up to 6 hours.
Go to your computer's System Preferences. Select the option Security & Privacy. Find the options for Camera, Microphone and Screen Recording make sure Loom is on the list of applications allowed access. If this is not the case, please restart your computer and reinstall the Loom app.
Make sure you're connected to a stable internet connection. If you experienced an interruption while recording (wifi or internet dropout) or during processing, your video may not upload with success. If the app experienced a crash it could also result in the files not uploading with success.
- Go to the video that you want to download via your Personal Library.
- Click on the ... above your video.
- Select Download from the dropdown menu.
On a strong stable, connection, it should not take more than a few minutes for videos under 10 minutes at 720p recording quality. However, if you record a long video and your upload speed is on the lower end, the processing time will increase as Loom finishes uploading your video.
